Finally after a dispute of fifteen years between the local Surinamese government and the global NGO Conservation International (CI) on the management of the Central Suriname Nature Reserve (CSNR) a plan will start to manage the reserve. The cooperation between those two institutes was a success at the creation of the reserve in 1998 but it worsened when CI positioned it selves too dominant at the management of the reserve, while the government did not want to lose any control.
